Absolutely essential
Vitamin C is vital and necessary for a healthy immune system, it is responsible for a number of functions in the human body and cannot be stored, so it needs to be included in your diet every day. Vitamin C is naturally found in many different foods, but as I intermittently fast regularly, with the reduced intake of food I would say I am at risk of not getting enough Vitamin C in my diet so it is beneficial to supplement it where possible. The vegetable capsules are large but not hard to swallow. The capsules come a huge glass bottle which was unexpected � most supplements come in a plastic container. The top is properly sealed & the cap is also made from gold plated metal, which is easily recyclable. Inside there is a swap of cotton that keeps the inside moisture free and also protects the tablets and stops from knocking around during shipment and potentially breaking inside the container, which again was unexpected as most supplements don't include this. Its early days, but after taking these for around a week I have had no ill-effects taking these. They seem to be made to a high standard and I would recommend them as a quality supplement. In the past I have taken Vitamin C as an effervescent tablet and suffered terrible stomach pain and cramps. I have not had that with these tablets, but do not take more than one per day as having over 1000mg of Vitamin C can cause stomach pains. Good quality, high potency vitamins like this brand are VERY helpful for over-50's as digestion efficiency of food decreases. I am 66 and I am often told I look 50 or even 40!
As a vegan it's great that so many of Solgar products are suitable for vegans. These are no exception and are clearly marked vegan in the front. You take one a day so you've got 250 days supply here. They come in veggie capsules and are of a medium-large size. I found them very easy to swallow and I think most people would too.
